A paragraph or two in respone to "The use of Energy" by Wendell Berry

This Article that Wendell Berry wrote is very well written. He paints a very vivid picture for "us" the reader to follow.I think that the use of energy when it comes to farming should be done by psychical labor from us humans and not the use of machines to make the job faster and easier. I am not saying to not use machines at all, I am simply saying cut down on the use of them. It is all about the all mighty dollar these days. Using machines on a regular basis also uses a lot more of our energy than doing it mostly by hand and the energy is now spent and never to return again. The fact that he says that life comes from death is a trip! He compares it to the earths soil and the death of bugs and how this process is recycled. Look at the Amish people that live in the Midwest, they have restricted their use of machine developed energy. They do most of their work by hand with mules and horses. Their crops probably turn out killer. The more energy we save, the more energy we will have later on down the road. The fact that the world is leaning more and more towards the use of machines can be a bad thing. Will we humans one day become obsolete from the striving use of these machines? Judgement day is coming and were on its list!

My paragraph in response to an article by Thomas L. Friedman

In this particular article it talks about China going "green" due to the result of high pollution from coal-and oil-based manufacturing. It states that the people in this country cannot properly breathe, they can't swim, fish, or farm because of this reason. China's focus is on low-cost manufacturing of solar, wind and also batteries. It also states that the assistant secretary of energy thinks that China will pass us in the 21st-century of technology. People in China will die from their own development caused from a high rate of coal-and oil-based manufacturing if they do not address this growing concern. My opinion in this matter is, I think that the world as a whole should get together and we should all go green. I am not a environmentalist but it would preserve our land, air, and water so that we as humans can live a little longer and also the next generation "Our children" will have a safe and healthy planet to live on as well. I have noticed over the past few years that this is a growing concern all over the world and not just in China. If we don't take action as a whole, bad things are bound to happen all over the world. The polar ice cap is melting which is destroying our wildlife in the polar ice cap. The Chinese are very intelligent people and are always excelling at lightning speeds. They say we live and learn by trial and error? We have seen enough error! If going "Green" works for one country? well then why not jump on it ourselves? When it comes down to business it don't matter who's in the lead, this is one world and our only world, lets take care of it.
